The ABATE State Run:

Look folks if your new to this Organization overall or just this Local you need to know about the ABATE State Run. It traditionally has been one of our biggest fundraisers that actually keeps the State Organization rolling, fiscally, and has traditionally been "Just a damn good time". The first ones I attended were in Paso Robles then gee that far back it gets a little hazy but I think it then moved to down below Julian for 2 years then up to Porterville, then up to the Tulare Fair Grounds and now its resting peacefully in Kernville, for the time being till we get 86'd outta there. It's a great location and my gosh Kernville has such a history with Bikerdom. Its just a good old unpretentious Hoot and you should all attend. If you just can't in no way see yer-self there but your a bit flush (cashwise) you might at least want to PRE-REGISTER. If you wind up making it you will have a ticket waiting at the front gate fer ya, real VIP treatment, but if you can't make it you have helped you organization survive another year. The pre-reg. helps assure that the committee can make it's expenses so that they can breath a lot easier come time for the event.
One more thing about the Run is some time back Lady K made a really neat ABATE quilt and held a special raffle at the State Run for it. Well whoever won it that year donated it back and then last year someone else won it. And now it seems the New winner has decided to re Raffle it, again. This is seemingly a beautiful quilt, I've seen it and it didn't smell or anything I don't know why nobody wants to keep it but hey it's made some $$$ and I guess well just keep raffelin it off till someone decides to keep it, some-body's Dog (or wolf) shreds it, or it makes soooooo much $$$ for ABATE that in the year 2525, if man is still alive, we can retire it to the State office for all to see whats left of it. I, your President, am in possession of 10, count'em TEN shiny tickets @ a mere $5.00 each for a chance to win this lovely artifact, or oil drip floor cover, if you win it its up to you how you use it. Contact me or come to the next meeting at Denny's on Van Buren (just past the old Drive-in Theater by the Albertsons) on Tuesday September 1 at 7:30 PM. If you want to see the rag, I mean Quilt go to: http://www.myspace.com/abateofcastaterun click on something, I'm told, and you can view this fine PRIZE!
