PAUL COOK
Assemblyman, 65th District
(916) 319-2065
Cook, a retired Marine Corps colonel and Vietnam veteran, introduced the bill to bring closure to fellow veterans still struggling with the way they were treated following the Vietnam conflict.
“This was a highly politicized war. It still evokes strong feelings among veterans and people who disagreed with the US policies at the time, but it is important that we set aside these differences to honor and thank the men and women who put on uniforms to preserve the freedoms we have today,” Cook said.
The signing ceremony is scheduled for September 25th at 10:30 A.M on the base’s parade field. Vietnam veterans and members of veteran organizations are encouraged to attend. Due to security precautions, a special pass is required for entry on the base. For more information on obtaining a pass, please contact Cook’s Capitol Office at (916) 319-2065. Marine Corps officials are advising attendees to enter at the Adobe Road entrance.
Cook added, “I’m excited because Friday is going to be a special day for veterans. I look forward to seeing them at the signing ceremony.”
